Tour of the Tors by Nigel Grist| 7pm
In this lecture, Nigel Grist will present a virtual tour around many of Dartmoor’s tors, looking at the geology, history, archaeology, folklore and flora and fauna.
Nigel is a biologist by training with an early period working on seabird ecology followed by setting up and running a marine biological survey company for 25 years. Photography in various forms has been important to him for many years for both work and pleasure. Over an 11 month period in 2012/2013 he walked all the named tors and hills on Dartmoor taking many thousands of images on the way.
Currently Nigel is a Moorland Guide and navigation tutor, photographer and printmaker. He works with some of the many variations of printmaking including linocut, collagraph and etching. He is also part of Press Gang Printmakers and teaches from time to time at Salcombe art Club.
