The Secret Wildlife of Dartmoor by Paul Rendell 7pm

In this lecture, Paul Rendell will be looking specifically at the plants and wildlife found on Dartmoor, in the woods and in the rivers. Some of the wildlife is rare, like dormice, and others very common. He will also examine some of the uses of many plants like pennywort.
Paul has a knowledge of the moor that only a few possess, with a particular interest in Dartmoor’s industrial archaeology and wildlife. He has been a Dartmoor guide for over 21 years and is a member of the Moorland Guides. He is also a speaker and a published writer, and has written many articles for newspapers and magazines. His first book was ‘Exploring the Lower Walkham Valley’ and he is now working on his next book: ‘Ghostly Dartmoor’. In 1991 he founded the ‘Dartmoor News’, a bi-monthly magazine which he still edits today.
