The British Empire and Exeter by Dr. Todd Gray. 7pm
A thorny and contested history, the subject of the British Empire has yet to be explored for Devon. This lecture explores how Exeter was connected through the lives of several hundred of its people and in their own words. We need to recognise the bare outline of this 400 year old history in order to understand how it was created, nurtured and disintegrated.
Dr Todd Gray MBE is a historian largely interested in Devon and has written widely on various aspects of the history of the county.
A Season Ticket to attend all 11 lectures in our 2025 programme is also available to purchase from this website.
