South Devon Snapshots

Large collection of images donated to the Archive.

Earlier this year we were approached by a lady looking to find a home for her late father’s collection of historic documents, plans, photographs and books relating to South Devon. This impressive Archive of local material, which filled 12 large removal boxes in total, was delivered to us in October and we have since been sorting through the contents. 

In one box we discovered hundreds of old photographs of Totnes and the surrounding area, as well as pictures of Dartmouth and the coastal farms and villages nearby. In the months ahead each of these snapshot will be digitised and added to our Image Bank which will soon be available online, but in the meantime we have selected these images to share with you.
