What a fantastic day we’ve had at the 133rd Yealmpton Show!

As always we were in the Yealmpton History tent showcasing the work that we do at the Archive and sharing some of our collection with visitors. This year we took a selection of historic maps of the local area, agricultural sales posters and a bundle of historic photographs of Yealmpton with an appeal for more information about the places and people depicted.

The tent was bustling all day and we gleaned lots of new information to add to our Image Bank, as well as the promise of other items to add to our collection; our Curator was also interviewed on BBC Radio Devon. We finished the day with ice-cream for our amazing volunteers who stewarded the stand throughout the day.
