Prince Maurice’s Invasion of Devon 1643 by Philip Photiou on Thursday, 4th April 2024 at 7pm in The Devon Rural Archive.

Plymouth-based Philip Photiou is the author of ‘Plymouth’s Forgotten War’ and he presents historical podcasts about the Civil War and the Second World War in Plymouth and the surrounding areas. He also leads monthly tours of Drake’s Island, the Hoe, The Barbican and Plymstock. In this fascinating talk, he brings to life the royalist invasion of Devon in 1643, when Prince Maurice’s army invaded Exeter, Dartmouth, and towns in North Devon, and the ensuing siege of Plymouth in the winter of that year. Tickets are £7.00 each, and must be purchased in advance.  To purchase a ticket please use the button below.
